Trav's response

Ok, so yesterday I asked a question with regards to an attached female being friends with single males. Our wonderful Trav was good enough to respond - but for some reason, can't post a comment on here, so I'll do it for him.

Hey darlin',

I'm not able to post a comment on your blog, but I wanted to respond to your question since your were kind enough to mention me.

I've always had a
network of female friends. They help me when I fuck up. It doesn't happen a lot, but usually when it does I go for the big time fuck ups. I'm a hellacious flirt and that gets me misunderstood a lot, but I have tremendous respect for women. I would never play the friends game just to get something from a woman - it's not right or fair to anyone. I'll be perfectly clear with any woman I want to be with and give her ample opportunity to dance or walk.

Of course, there's "the look" I sometimes get from the gal posse when I've fucked up - you know the one I'm talking about. The look that says, "Oh Travis, c'mere and let us tell you what just went wrong".

(Lucky for me I'm not getting that look much anymore, since I have found the perfect woman for me - even the posse knows it.)

If you're comfortable with someone, if they let you be yourself, if they don't judge you out of hand, if they are honest with you - well, that's a great friend and it shouldn't matter whether that person is male or female.

That's my 2 cents. Great blog.

Travis

Thanks Trav my dear. And the lady is lucky to have you. :D

Hugs for now

Angell - out!

Angell

I have always had female friends... Always...and it has caused the partners in my life some worry, until they realized that these female friends have helped make me who i am today.
Well some might take issue with me being the way I am - but the hell with them! LOL

Also...grouping all the people on the web site as the same as one is why this world is so f'ed up...people who see someone of another color or ethnicity do something and presume all of the otheres of that color or ethnicity are the same are found in the same silo and that silo is labled BIGOTS

Interesting question Angell. So you ask about attached women, eh? But what of attached men being friends with single women?
Why is it that instinctively the point revolves about was is proper for a woman?
I love Travis's answer, and yes Trav, the posse knows she is perfect for you.
The basic fundamental question is about men and women in general. Even though the double standards are still prevalent and most likely always will be.
No, I'm not going to go into a *if women ruled the world* rant because as Robin Williams said ( and I just know one of my male couterparts would bring it up, so I'll say it first): If women ran the world we wouldn't have wars, just intense negotiations every twenty eight days. (end quote)
Single, married, woman, man, it really doesn't matter to me. I value the friendships I have, be they with men or women regardless of their marital status, station in life, occupation. I think it's important to be with the people you have fun with, learn from and respect. The friendships I've had and continue to have with men have given me insight and a point of view (not to mention a hell of a lot of fun bantering) that has been invaluable to me. *curtesies to Travis and Bond*
OK, so I'm done... stepping off my soap box before someone pushes me off.. (like that Damm Lurking Duck!)

Love ya Angell! Damn Canuck chicks are cool, aren't we!? ;-)

Hey sweetie-- I have always had male friends--probably more men than women until the last few years. I like the easy camraderie of hanging with guys--and my friendships with men have given me a lot of insight I would have not normally had. The funny thing is I used to prefer hanging with my male friends--they were more fun! Luckily I have a wonderful group of friends of both sexes now and I feel so good about that.
