100TH POST

WOOOOOOOOOO! And Happy Hallowe'en!!

I made it.

My 100th post.

As I'm typing this, I'm reflecting on what got me started - silly me - BOND!! And the Soul Patrol of course.

I'm not a consistent blogger, like some of our wonderful friends. And I'm certainly not the most creative blogger in the blogosphere. I don't do profound "thinking" posts.

I don't write scathing (but amusing) social commentaries. My wit isn't razor sharp like some of our friends.

And we all certainly know that I can't share a ton of what's going on in my personal life, which sucks, but such is the way things are, right?

I get lazy. I post songs and lyrics because they're easy. BUT, when I do, I post those that have meaning in my life, even if I can't explain what it is.

BUT, I must have done something right, somewhere along the line.

Because, my wonderful gal pal Dixie, awarded me with The Wonder Woman blogging award, because apparently, I'm wonderful. (Thanks Dix - I lurves you too baby doll).

So, I'm awarding this Wonder Woman Blogger award to the following women who amaze me all the time:

*Crystal over at Boobs, Injuries & Dr. Pepper, because she ALWAYS makes me laugh to the point of tears
*Dayle over at Enchantments, because she IS a wonder, she IS a woman, and when I grow up, I wanna be just like her
*Roz from Rozzie Bear'z Sykoyd Rantz & Ravz cuz the litle spitfire knows her music
*Beck from PopEye for her scathing commentaries on everything Britney, amongst other things
*And we welcome a newcomer to the Blogosphere, and I welcome her with this award - Glinda, from Ramblings from the GW of the North

It's also Hallowe'en. And while I wanted to post a pic of me in my costume from the party I went to the other night, none of them came out looking decent. SOOOOO, I'm just gonna post this one of the girls - I'm all in black so I blend in the background, but it's still a great shot.

And, I also found these great pics on the net. So, enjoy the spook-tacular day kiddies.

Thank you to Bond for starting this. Thanks to you all for reading. And above all, thanks for sticking around for this roller coaster that is my life. And here's to 100 more rides.

SCHMOOZE AWARD - AND ON MY BDAY TOO

Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday to me
Happy Biiiiiirrrttthhhhhdaaaaaay dear MEEEEEEEE

Happy Birthday to me.

(and no I'm not telling how old I am....)

AND to top it off, I've been chosen as a SCHMOOZER by my gal Dixie!!!

I am honored to be chosen for this one. :D I do my best.

So, on this wonderful day, I am choosing the following blogs as my choices for 'The Power of Schmooze' (as soon as I find someone Dix HASN'T tagged) LMAO.

Matt-Man over at Bagwine Ruminations
Ambulance Driver at the blog of the same name (just follow the link)
Crystal (yes girl, I've tagged your ass again) over at Boobs, Injuries & Dr. Pepper
Beck over at The Pop Eye for her wonderful cynicism
And the lovely Trollop With a Laptop for leading me down the XXX path...oops, did I just say that out loud?

There are at least a dozen more authors that I read out there in the blogosphere that deserve this award, but I'll leave them to be tagged by others.

Devestating News

I was surfing through the blogosphere today, and was doing my usual visiting, when I came across a devestating post at Crystal's Boobs, Injuries & Dr. Pepper.

A fellow blogger NYC Watchdog just lost his 5 year old son to a freak drowning accident. It's the saddest day in the world when a parent loses a child, but especially one so young. Crystal got the news from one of her regular blogging friends, Avitable.

On his site, Avitable is selling graphics, much like the one at the top of my post, in order to help raise money for expenses for the funeral. Each graphic costs $5.00 and they are selling via paypal. I know money is tight for a lot of us, but if you can spare it, please do.

I wish I had an appropriate poem or song to post at this time in his honor, but it's so very hard to think.

My thoughts and prayers are with Dawg and his family at this time.

KEEP ON ROCKIN' IN THE FRE....oh yeah, ummm ...

Ok, I have been tagged by the wonderfully subduded (but still rocking) southern belle Dana as one of the chicks that rock her world. See? Here's the proof.

And in turn (yes girl, I DID say TURN), I am to tag five chicks that totally rock MY world in this crazy thing we call the blogosphere. Since I WAS going to tag Dana (and pretty much everyone else she tagged), I will be hitting it with a few chicks who might not know that every entry makes my day a little brighter.

1. Dayle Dermatis over at Enchantments is the epitome of a rocker chick. Besides being a brilliant writer and an amazing human being, she's also Styx - obsessed, which is how she came to enter my world. :D (Or did I enter hers? I forget....meh, either way, it don't matter). She's incredibly funny, and just an all around GGTK (good gal to know). Knowledgeable in many areas, she's a Jill of All Trades, and I count myself lucky to be in her universe.

2. Crystal, over at Boobs, Injuries & Dr. Pepper, is another Southern gal with a killer sense of humor. She's a mom, a nurse, and a comedienne. Her entries keep me in stitches on a continuous basis. I hope to God that when I'm a mom, I manage to keep my sense of humor like she has. For shits (with corn) and giggles, visit her daily.

3. ROZZIE BEAR!! I had the amazingly good fortune to meet this little (and I do mean little - I think one of my thighs weighs more than her) spitfire at Styxfest this year, the same day I met Dayle. God was smiling on me that day. She's a drummer in one of the coolest cover bands ever, and has so much energy the rest of us got tired just watching her. While she doesn't post a lot, when she does, she has a lot to say. Rock on John (she knows...oh yes...she knows).

4. Forget Dear Abby, Ann Landers, or even Dr. Phil. When you want advice, and the truth, head over to We Three Bitches. They will give you the truth and THEN some. No matter the subject, they have a few choice words in support - or a few words that are equivilant to a bitch slap upside the head. They update as often as they can - so send them a letter. I haven't ,but that's cuz I'm not stoopid....lol.

5. And I can't believe she hasn't been tagged yet. Ms. Mimi Pencil Skirt, the innovator of the peace globe movement, and keeper of the quill at Bloggingham Palace, is defiantely an original, and her posts keep me smiling, especially when she teams up with her man Bud. :D

So there you have it. LADIES, tag five of your favourites. Let's keep the blogosphere rocking!!!
